Ownership
Farmers State Bank has about 250 stockholders, most of whom are local residents or have a local business interest. The stock is not traded publicly. Occasionally, some shares are made available for sale to those who have asked to be included on a list of potential purchasers. Directorship
The Board of Directors is composed of 6 outside directors who are involved in a wide range of venues including dairy farming, law, residential construction, building supply, and manufacturing, and two inside directors. Our directors range in age from 36 to 71 and include two women and six men. The directors' tenure ranges from 26 years to less than one year. The Chairman of the Board has been a director for 15 years and has a retailing background with a regional discount chain. The Secretary has been a director for 26 years and has succeeded as sole proprietor of an excavating business and as a local retailer.
